Every now and then, I photograph a wedding where I leave feeling like I haven’t just photographed clients… I’ve spent the day with friends! 🥹
Hayley and Liam were one of those couples!
From the moment I met these two, there was just this beautiful ease about them. The kind of connection that doesn’t need to be forced or overly directed because it’s already right there in front of you! They were completely themselves with one another, and I honestly had the BEST time capturing it 🥰
There were some proper belly laughs shared, and those are always the weddings that remind me just how lucky I am to do what I do. Being welcomed into such an intimate, important day and feeling like you’re genuinely part of it is something I’ll never take for granted!
Hayley and Liam celebrated their wedding at the beautiful Ātaahua Garden Venue in Tauranga, and between these two, the incredible gardens, that DRESS and Hayley’s absolutely unreal Spanish-style lace veil… this day had my whole heart.
A Romantic Ātaahua Garden Venue Wedding
Tucked away in Pyes Pa, just outside central Tauranga, Ātaahua is one of those wedding venues where everywhere you turn there seems to be another beautiful little pocket to photograph!
The venue is surrounded by established European-inspired gardens and native bush, with beautiful hedges, mature trees, ivy-covered walls, a walled garden and so many different textures and layers of green.
Basically… photographer heaven 😍
The gardens feel romantic and established. There are little pathways and quiet corners. The indoor spaces have their own personality too! The checkered floors, LOVE!
Getting Married at Ātaahua Garden Venue in Tauranga?
If you’re currently planning an Ātaahua Garden Venue wedding, you have chosen one seriously beautiful little pocket of the Bay of Plenty.
The gardens give you so much variety for your ceremony and photographs, while having everything in one location means you can spend more of your wedding day actually celebrating with your favourite humans rather than travelling between locations!
And as a Bay of Plenty wedding photographer, it is exactly the kind of venue I LOVE photographing!
Beautiful light, layers of greenery, character-filled spaces and enough variety for us to create something that feels completely your own.
But most importantly, it’s a setting that allows the people and the moments to remain the focus.
Because twenty years from now, that’s the stuff you’re going to care about!
Hayley & Liam, Thank You 🥹
Hayley and Liam, I bloody adored your day!
Thank you for trusting me, for making me feel so incredibly welcome and for allowing me into your world for the day.
Hayley, thank you for the belly laughs 😂 I genuinely felt like I had known you for far longer than I actually had, and getting to photograph the two of you together was such a privilege.
This is one of those galleries that I look back through and immediately remember how the day felt and that’s always what I hope to create.
So here are a few of my favourites from one very special Ātaahua Garden Venue wedding.
And yes…
I’m still thinking about that veil!!! 🤍
