The Perfect Setting for Love

Laidley, Brisbane—with its sunny skies and scenic country landscapes, provided the perfect setting for Caitlyn and Mitch’s special day 😍 Their love story is too cute and began at their small country primary school with just 18 pupils!!! If that’s not fate, I don’t know what is! Many years later, their story blossomed into a growing family and a beautiful vintage-themed wedding filled with memorable moments and special, unique touches 🥰

A Cake Maker’s Masterpiece

One of the highlights of the day was undoubtedly the wedding cake! Caitlyn is a SUPER talented cake maker and crafted of the most incredible wedding cakes I had ever seen! It was not only visually stunning but also held deep sentimental value. The cake was an ode to both hers and Mitch’s parents’ wedding cakes, blending tradition with her own personal flair. It was a true masterpiece that stole the show!

A Nod to Vintage Love

Caitlyn and Mitch wanted their wedding to feel like a nod to a vintage love story. To bring their vision to life, they enlisted a team of photographers they felt would fit the bill. Alongside myself, Fiona Hull captured the day on a Super 8 film camera, and Heather used a handheld digital camera. This combination whipped up a recipe for vintage goodness, capturing the essence of their love story in every frame—like a fine wine, it just gets better with age 😉

Capturing Memories on the Family Farm

For their couple portraits, we headed to Mitch’s family farm, just down the road from where they first met. Photographing their love in such a meaningful location added a special touch to the portraits. The farm’s rustic charm and the couple’s genuine connection made for truly beautiful and heartfelt portraits 🥰

A Ceremony Steeped in Tradition

The ceremony took place in the local Catholic church, a place where Mitch and his family have spent a lot of their time. The church’s timeless architecture provided the perfect backdrop for their vows. Surrounded by family and friends, Caitlyn and Mitch’s ceremony was a very special celebration of their love and commitment to one another!
